Mark A. Miner is an award-winning entrepreneur, writer, editor and publisher who has had a lifelong interest in the Civil War. With a journalism degree from West Virginia University, he has built a professional career spanning nearly three decades.
In 2005, he was named to the Renaissance Hall of Fame of the prestigious Public Relations Society of America for his contributions in the fields of law, engineering and accounting. He is CEO of Mark Miner Communications, LLC, a corporate communications consultancy serving professional service firm and, on a half-time basis, director of corporate communications for Larson Design Group, a nationally emerging architecture, engineering and survey firm.
He also is CEO of Minerd.com Publishing, LLC, publisher of Well At This Time: The Civil War Diaries of Ephraim Miner, and of Forged in Steel: The Seven Time-Tested Leadership Principles Practiced by the Pittsburgh Steelers, co-authored by Tunch Ilkin of the Steelers and Damian Williams, CEO of Leadership League.
In the community, Miner serves on the operating committee of the award-winning Beaver Station Cultural & Event Center and the executive committee of the Mental Health Association in Beaver County, PA. He is a past executive committee member of the American Cancer Society in Pittsburgh, chairman of the board of trustees of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum and president of Malin Bergquist Charities, Inc. He has been an annual guest lecturer at the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics. Since 1995, he has been president of the national Minerd-Minard-Miner-Minor Reunion, and since 2000 has been webmaster of Minerd.com, twice named by Family Tree Magazine as one of the top 10 family websites in the nation. He and his wife Liz reside in Beaver, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
